Club Improvements Focus on Sustainability & Technology

Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron has undergone many changes in the last six months to modernise our systems and facilities for the enhanced experience of our Members. Several refurbishments to our amenities include the renovation of our apartments, dining area and waterfront. During this process, we have also paid particular attention to our environmental impact and implemented several sustainability initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint.

Among these upgrades was the installation of our new fuel pontoon and jib crane pontoon. Our waterfront dining area was given a facelift in September, with our hardwood floors sanded and refinished. Our accommodations were improved with painting, new furniture and modern styling aiming to provide Members and guests with the utmost comfort and satisfaction.

In November, we accomplished a significant milestone by commissioning the installation of a solar panel array on the boatshed roof. This initiative aligns with our sustainability goals and has provided our Club with cleaner energy. Members can track the performance of the solar panels through our RSYS Sustainability webpage. We have also installed water refill stations around the Club and have successfully popularised our reusable keep-cups and water bottles from our retail store.

Meanwhile, our Club software has also experienced its most significant advancement to date, transitioning systems to Northstar Global, a fully-integrated world-class club management platform, with streamlined account management, online bookings for dining, events, accommodation and moorings, as well as opportunities for Members to personalise their Club experience.
