St. Francis Yacht Club is hosting a US Sailing Advanced Race Management Seminar on February 1-2, 2025, with instructors Lynn Lynch, Race Official for the 2024 Paris Olympics, and Tom Duggan, PRO for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Course Rep for the 2016 Rio Olympics.

This Advanced Race Management Seminar fulfills the requirement for certification and recertification and includes the opportunity to take the Advanced Race Officer Test following the final session. You will have three weeks to complete it.

Schedule
The seminar will consist of a short Introductory Zoom session followed by two in-person sessions. Attendance in all 3 sessions is required to complete and pass the course.

Session 1: Introduction – Thursday, January 23, 2025, 7:00-8:00pm, Zoom online.
Session 2: Saturday, February 1, 2025, 9:00am-6:00pm in-person.
Session 3: Sunday, February 2, 2025, 9:00am-6:00pm in-person.

There is pre-course work to complete between the Intro Zoom Session and Session 1. It is estimated to require 8-10 hours to complete. The course is designed to build on lessons learned in these pre-course modules, but they may be accessed, reviewed, or worked on up until the class closing date. Timely efforts will produce the best results.

Two weeks prior to the in-person session participants will receive an email from US Sailing’s online learning platform, inviting you to participate in the course. Please click the “Get Started” link to complete your profile and login to access the REQUIRED pre-course materials in Canvas.

The lead instructor will email you with Zoom link and additional course information before the seminar begins.
