General Managers discussed effective leadership strategies and best practices when it comes to members. Each GM shared examples of their own personal styles of leadership and how this has served them. Sharing good communication practices and discussions with leadership was the center of the conversation. Developing good relationships with your club’s board and understanding their needs is crucial. GMs emphasized that letting them come up with the path to reach the board goals sets precedent. Also discussed was the importance of maintaining good communication within all levels of staff and having oversight on every aspect of the club.
