Cheering for our Olympian

Coral Reef Yacht Club is thrilled and incredibly proud to announce that Mrs. Sarah Newberry Moore will be competing in the Nacra 17 class in the 2024 Olympics! Sarah has been a cherished member of Coral Reef Yacht Club for the past eight years, and she’s not only a phenomenal professional athlete but also a Level III Sailing Coach. She has coached the CRYC Opti fleet since fall of 2016 and served as a USODA International Team Coach in 2018.

Sarah is one of the best female drivers in performance sailing in U.S. history. Her impressive achievements include five National Championships, two North American Championships and the ISAF World Cup Miami. She made history as the first woman driver in the U.S. to win the US Youth Championship, the US National Championship for the Alter Cup, the F16 National Championship and the F18 National Championship.

In 2023, Sarah and her sailing partner David Liebenberg secured a spot racing in the Nacra 17 cleass for Team USA in the Olympics during the Pan-American Games in Chile by clinching second place. Racing begins in Marseille, France, on August 3. Follow their journey with daily updates on Instagram, managed by a dedicated social media manager, and find out all the ways to watch the racing on the US Sailing Olympic webpage.

Join us in cheering for Sarah as she represents our club and the USA on the world stage!
